The European Institute of Cultural Management is a leader in fostering innovation in the arts. Our mission is to elevate the independent arts sector through tailored consulting and expert training. Our vision is centred around inclusivity, sustainability, and international cross-sector collaboration.

We have a team of experienced and highly skilled consultants who are committed to delivering exceptional results for our clients. Our team members bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to every project we undertake. We further collaborate with a wide-ranging network of partners from different sectors who actively contribute to our work across projects.

Established in 2023, The Touring Project is a six-day professional development programme held in conjunction with selected festivals, designed to support independent performing artists in the areas of tour management and internationalisation. The programme provides participants with a deeper understanding of the international cultural sector, while helping them refine touring strategies, expand professional networks, and increase the international visibility of their work.
Each year, eight artists are selected through an open call to take part in the programme. Over the course of one week, participants engage in daily internationalisation workshops that focus on practical tools for developing touring strategies and creating effective communication materials.
In parallel, participants attend festival performances together and take part in structured exchange formats with producers and agents from the performing companies, encouraging direct dialogue and the development of professional relationships.

The “mad artist” myth has long linked artistic genius with mental illness, leading to the romanticisation and neglect of artists’ mental health needs. In the performing arts, mobility, financial insecurity, and unstable working conditions—especially during touring and residencies—pose serious risks to well-being. For artists with mental health conditions, these challenges can limit career progression, funding access, and long-term sustainability. Research indicates that up to 60% of dancers experience mental health difficulties, reflecting wider sector trends.
The FRAMEWORKS Project addresses these issues through expert think tanks, public symposia, a dedicated resource centre, publications, best-practice development, strategic partnerships, and targeted training programmes.
